These are some extra self-portraits I did. I had a lot of fun using the multiple-exposure effect to express my creativity. :)

I took really simple pictures of myself, but through sabattier and multiple-exposure effects, I was able to form more creative, complex pictures. I believe this shows my creativity and individuality. For multiple exposures, I used plants, water, and a forest, because I love being surrounded by nature.

Portraits

I invited some friends over for a little photo shoot for this project. I wanted them to really show their personalities through the photograph. With a plain background, we were able to express different emotions. Each photograph is shown in sepia, black and white, cyanotype, and cross-process.

Izzy (above) was so much fun to photograph! She really expressed her feminine side in these photographs. I'm very proud of how the lighting turned out.

Abby (above) was a joy to photograph, too. She's awesome at making eye contact with the camera.

Lexi (above) has such a hilarious, goofy personality, which really showed in all of her photos. She wasn't afraid to take any risks. Her personality is really shown in all photos.

Alfred Stieglitz

1. Alfred Stieglitz was an American photographer and art promoter who worked to make photography an accepted art form. He also ran art galleries in New York in the early 1900s.

2. This photo (shown left), "Old and New New York," was taken by Alfred Stieglitz and is my personal favorite of his. The composition is interesting and eye-catching - with dark, old buildings in the foreground and a larger, new building being constructed in the background, highlighted by the bright sky. The difference between light and dark, old and new demonstrates how the city was constantly changing and being refined.
3. Stieglitz was in a relationship with famous painter Georgia O'Keeffe. One of her paintings, "Blue and Green Music," can be seen below-right. 

Film Images

These  images were taken with my 35mm film camera in my backyard. They didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped but I had a lot of fun trying to get my cat before she moved. ;P
